What Amazon India’s review policy allows

Amazon’s Community Guidelines let you ask any verified buyer for an honest review, as long as you do not pay for it, incentivise it, or ask only for positive reviews. The safe, approved channels are Amazon’s own: the Request a Review button in Seller Central, Amazon Vine for brand-registered sellers, and Amazon’s automated review emails. Neutral product inserts and buyer messages are allowed only when they ask for honest feedback and never an incentive or a five-star.

What gets your listing suppressed or banned

Buying reviews, free or discounted product in exchange for a review, reviews from family, friends or staff, review gating (asking only happy customers), inserts that demand five stars or offer gift cards, diverting unhappy buyers away from leaving a review, and multiple-account manipulation. Amazon removes these in bulk and can suppress or permanently ban the listing and account. We do none of it.

India’s review law: BIS IS 19000 and the Consumer Protection Act

India is stricter than most markets. The BIS standard for online consumer reviews (IS 19000:2022), the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the CCPA guidelines treat fake, paid and misleading reviews as an offence, not just a platform violation. A compliant review programme is now a legal requirement as much as an Amazon one, and it is exactly how we work.
