- $5.5 Mn seed from Accel, Fireside Ventures and Lightspeed
- Commercial launch set for 1 September, starting in Bengaluru
- Targets 30-minute delivery of plywood, paint and hardware
- Founders came from DesignCafe, Zepto and Flipkart operations
Fixxly has raised $5.5 million in a seed round from Accel, Fireside Ventures and Lightspeed India Partners. The company is building a quick commerce platform for building materials and has not yet gone live commercially.
Founded in 2026 by Shezan Bhojani and Sachith Varma, Fixxly plans to deliver plywood, paint, electricals, lighting, hardware and plumbing supplies in as little as 30 minutes. Its buyers are contractors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, interior designers and homeowners. Fulfilment runs through a network of local dark stores, with an AI layer matching live inventory, proximity and demand to route orders.
Bhojani cofounded home interiors company DesignCafe, which merged with HomeLane in 2024. Varma worked on supply chain design at Zepto and ran last-mile operations at Flipkart. Commercial launch is set for 1 September, starting in Bengaluru before a wider city rollout. Valuation was not disclosed.
Why it matters
This is a pre-launch seed round at $5.5 million, which shows investors pricing quick commerce operating experience rather than traction. Accel and Fireside both run active consumer books, and Lightspeed has backed commerce infrastructure in India.
The harder question is unit economics. Grocery quick commerce works on high-frequency, low-basket orders. Building materials invert that: low frequency, high basket, heavy and bulky SKUs, and a buyer who is often a trade professional used to credit terms. Dark store space per SKU is far larger for plywood than for shampoo, so density maths and working capital will decide this, not delivery speed. If Fixxly makes it work, it opens a template for bulky and trade-leaning categories that Indian quick commerce has so far avoided.
