Centricity raises Rs 280 Cr Series A led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund
Centricity has raised Rs 280 Cr, about $30 Mn, in a Series A led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund. Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments, Stride Venture and InnoVen Capital, all existing investors, participated. The valuation was not disclosed.
Centricity is a Gurugram-based wealth management firm founded in 2022. It works with financial advisors, family offices and high net worth individuals, offering mutual funds, insurance, bonds, PMS, AIFs and global investment options.
The numbers, straight. Operating revenue rose to Rs 61.26 Cr in FY25 from Rs 19.02 Cr in FY24. Loss widened to Rs 31.72 Cr from Rs 9.31 Cr over the same period. Revenue roughly tripled. So did the loss. The company expects FY27 revenue above Rs 150 Cr.
Guidance is not a result
That Rs 150 Cr figure will get repeated over the next few weeks as though it already happened. It has not. It is guidance: a target the company set for itself, unaudited, sitting two financial years out. The Rs 61.26 Cr is the result. Only one of those two numbers has been through a books close.
Operators should care about this distinction because the same slippage happens inside our own reporting. Forecast GMV gets pasted next to actual GMV in the same deck, in the same font, and by the third review nobody remembers which column was a promise. Investors, lenders and platform category managers all end up making decisions on a blended number.
Fix it with formatting, not discipline. In every board pack and channel review, actuals and plan get separate columns with a visible label, and any forward number carries the date it was set and who set it. When a target moves, keep the old one visible next to the new one.
Do that once this quarter and your variance conversations get shorter for the rest of the year.
