The signal
  • Fusion Klassroom Edutech listed at Rs 170 on the BSE SME platform, a 6.92 percent premium to the Rs 159 issue price.
  • Shares closed the maiden session at Rs 166.75, up around 5 percent on the issue price and below the Rs 170 listing price.
  • Market capitalisation stood at Rs 155.4 crore, about $16.3 million, at the end of the session.
  • The Rs 39 crore IPO was subscribed 1.46 times, with a fresh issue of up to 19.89 lakh shares and an OFS of up to 4.66 lakh shares.

Shares of Fusion Klassroom Edutech made their stock market debut on the BSE SME platform, listing at Rs 170 against an issue price of Rs 159. That is a premium of 6.92 percent. Inc42 headlines the debut as a 7 percent premium, which is the rounded version of the same figure, and neither number is where the stock actually finished the day.

The close is the number that matters. Klassroom ended its maiden trading session at Rs 166.75 on the BSE, up around 5 percent from the Rs 159 issue price and below the Rs 170 it opened at. Market capitalisation stood at Rs 155.4 crore, about $16.3 million, at the end of the session.

The offer itself was priced in a band of Rs 151 to Rs 159 and raised Rs 39 crore, made up of a fresh issue of up to 19.89 lakh shares and an offer for sale of up to 4.66 lakh shares. It was subscribed 1.46 times. Proceeds are earmarked for technology upgrades, content development, marketing and brand building, and debt repayment. Klassroom posted Rs 23 crore in operating revenue in FY26, up 128 percent from around Rs 10 crore, and net profit of Rs 7.6 crore, up nearly 162 percent from Rs 2.9 crore in FY25.

For operators, the useful detail is the shape of the day rather than its direction. A 1.46 times subscription is thin cover. Thin cover means very little stock is held by allottees who wanted it badly, so an opening pop has nothing underneath it. Rs 170 became Rs 166.75 within one session for that reason.

The same logic applies when you engineer a launch on a marketplace. A day one spike built on scarcity signalling gives way the moment the buyers who chased it stop chasing. Depth of demand holds a price, not the first print. Klassroom is profitable and grew revenue 128 percent, which is a real business underneath. The first session priced that in, then handed some of it back.
