What this changes for brands shipping in India
A TMS is not back office software. It is the layer that decides which carrier moves which order, on which lane, at what cost. When two of these platforms combine, the number of independent systems quoting rates against each other gets smaller. Your carrier mix and your negotiated freight rates sit inside a stack that just consolidated.
So hold your own copy of the data. Pull the last twelve months of shipment level freight records out of whichever TMS you run and keep them in a sheet you control. Rebuild cost per shipment by lane and by weight slab yourself. At the next carrier review, quote from your numbers, not from the platform dashboard. If your TMS contract renews in the next two quarters, ask for rate card transparency and a data export clause in writing before you sign anything.
