Blinkit’s FY26 order lead nears Zepto and Instamart combined

Full-year FY26 data shows Blinkit processing almost as many orders as both rivals put together, while it alone posts positive adjusted EBITDA.

The signal
  • Blinkit processed 916.6 million FY26 orders against 640.2 million for Zepto and 412.2 million for Instamart.
  • Its 2,243 dark stores are nearly double Zepto's 1,139 and just ahead of Instamart's 1,143.
  • Blinkit posted a positive Rs 37 crore adjusted EBITDA in Q4 while both rivals lost over Rs 1,000 crore.
  • The leader can now fund density from operations, so brands should chase share of demand, not headlines.

Eternal’s FY26 disclosures, unpacked on 23 July, show Blinkit has pulled clear at the top of India’s quick commerce table. Blinkit processed 916.6 million orders during the year, against 640.2 million for Zepto and 412.2 million for Swiggy Instamart. The market leader now nearly matches its two closest rivals combined on order volume.

The store map tells the same story. Blinkit ended the year with 2,243 dark stores, almost double Zepto’s 1,139 and marginally ahead of Instamart’s 1,143. Scale is translating into unit economics. In the March quarter Blinkit posted a positive adjusted EBITDA of Rs 37 crore, while Zepto and Instamart reported adjusted EBITDA losses of Rs 1,247.5 crore and Rs 1,009 crore respectively.

The gap reframes the race. For two years the story was who could add stores fastest. The FY26 numbers suggest the leader can now fund density and assortment from its own operations while challengers keep burning to hold position.

For brands planning quick commerce launches, the takeaway is share of demand, not share of headlines. Blinkit’s order base gives it the richest first-party data, the deepest planograms and the most leverage in joint business plans. Zepto and Instamart will keep competing on trade terms and visibility deals to stay relevant while they chase breakeven, which is where sharp brands can still negotiate value.
