Blinkit weekly users cross 55 million, CLSA data shows

Blinkit widened its lead in India's quick commerce market, reaching a record 55.2 million weekly active users after adding 2.7 million in four weeks, according to CLSA data that showed rivals Zepto and Swiggy Instamart growing more slowly.

The signal
  • Blinkit reached 55.2 million weekly active users, up 2.7 million over four weeks
  • Its weekly user growth ran at about 13%, the fastest among major platforms
  • Blinkit processed more than 916 million orders in FY26 across 2,243 dark stores
  • Zepto logged around 640 million orders and Instamart nearly 412 million in FY26

A widening lead

Blinkit, owned by Eternal, reached a record 55.2 million weekly active users after adding 2.7 million over a four week stretch, according to CLSA data reported by Analytics Insight. That put its weekly user growth at about 13%, the strongest momentum among the large quick commerce platforms and enough to close in on the weekly active base of food delivery sibling Zomato.

The brokerage said Blinkit continued to outpace rivals on both scale and reach. The platform processed more than 916 million orders in FY26 while running India’s largest instant delivery network of 2,243 dark stores. By comparison, Zepto handled around 640 million orders and Swiggy Instamart nearly 412 million over the same year, with Instamart adding weekly users at a slower rate of about 9%.

Legacy grocers lag

The gap with older grocery apps was stark. CLSA noted that BigBasket, JioMart and DMart Ready together added only about 0.2 million weekly users in the period, a fraction of Blinkit’s gain, underlining how the instant delivery model has pulled demand away from planned weekly shopping. Blinkit’s density push, concentrating more dark stores inside pin codes it already serves, has helped it lift order frequency and basket counts.

Why it matters for Indian brands: weekly active users have become the clearest signal of who owns the instant grocery shopper, and Blinkit’s lead means brands negotiating shelf space, ad spends and assortment increasingly do so on its terms. Sellers that want fast reach into urban households cannot treat quick commerce as a side channel.
