Atomberg turns public company ahead of Rs 2,000 crore IPO

The Temasek-backed smart appliances brand converted to a public limited company and named three independent directors. Bankers are appointed and the target is about Rs 2,000 crore.

The signal
  • Renamed Atomberg Technologies Limited, three independent directors added
  • IPO target about Rs 2,000 crore, Avendus and IIFL Capital appointed
  • FY25 revenue Rs 958.4 crore, up 20 percent year on year
  • FY25 net loss narrowed 41 percent to Rs 117.4 crore

Atomberg Technologies has converted from a private limited company into a public limited company, a standard step before an Indian listing. Shareholders approved the name change to Atomberg Technologies Limited, and the board added three independent directors: Subhasis Chaudhuri, former director of IIT Bombay, Suman Gopalan, former chief human resources officer at Freshworks, and Anand Vora, former chief financial officer at UPL.

The Temasek-backed smart appliances brand is targeting an IPO of about Rs 2,000 crore and has appointed Avendus and IIFL Capital as bankers. Separately, its engineering arm is raising Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore at a valuation of Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 1,700 crore in a round led by General Catalyst.

The FY25 numbers give the pitch its shape. Operating revenue rose 20 percent to Rs 958.4 crore from Rs 796.9 crore in FY24, total income crossed Rs 1,000 crore, and net loss narrowed 41 percent to Rs 117.4 crore. Manoj Meena is chairman and managing director, with Shibam Das as chief executive.

Why it matters

Atomberg built its early volume online, in fans and small appliances, categories where marketplace listings, ratings and search rank do most of the selling. A listing at this scale gives Indian operators a rare public benchmark for a digital-first durables brand: the online share of revenue, marketing spend as a percentage of sales, working capital cycles on a high-ticket SKU, and how long the path to profit actually runs. Whenever the draft prospectus lands, it becomes a reference document for anyone modelling appliances or durables D2C.
